Competition Narrative

BFF proudly presents 15 impressive films for our 5th Anniversary Competition Feature Narrative block. These stories showcase the next wave of diverse, inclusive filmmakers that represent the world as it truly is.

Competition Documentary

Explore the heartfelt and humorous stories of the 14 Competition Feature Documentary films this year. From the history of stunt women in Hollywood to the life of competitive, creative dog groomers, these insightful documentaries are sure to educate and inspire.

Spotlight Films

Spotlight films feature bold work from film festival favorites from around the U.S. See a special, early screening of an indie smash months before anyone else.


Listen, learn, repeat. Experience the BFF 2019 official discussion events with an open mind, ears, and heart. Hear from celebrities, advocates, corporate change-makers, industry leaders, athletes and more on their innovative practices and personal experiences with inclusion and diversity in media.


Film industry leaders, artists and the brightest minds from forward-thinking organizations discuss innovative solutions to the problems around inclusion and representation that face our world today.


In this workshop, kids who’ve seen the movie “Coco” will learn what it means to evaluate media critically through discussion and hands-on activities based on Common Sense Media’s unique rating system.

Experience this special screening of BFF 2017 Alumni Blood Road, with Rebecca Rusch in attendance!

BFF in partnership with the Arkansas Fashion Council host a fashion event showcasing the original work of designer Linda Rowe Thomas.


Student teams create 60-second productions in 3 days, all powered by Samsung and BFF. The goal? To encourage Arkansas students to create inclusive content!

Women Shred

Hit the Oz trails at BFF with World Champion cyclists Caroline Buchanan, Anneke Beerten, Lael Wilcox and more at Women Shred, the first-ever bike festival focused on women, and female cyclist representation in film, May 8-11! Their goal? Get more women on the epic Oz trails of NWA!

Pioneer: First Women Filmmakers

Explore the barrier-breaking, women of early cinema who you most-likely haven’t heard of, despite their lasting mark on the films we enjoy today.

The Check Your Blind Spots Tour is coming to BFF! Hop on the bus and walk through a series of experiences designed to raise awareness around unconscious bias and how everyone can change behaviors in their everyday lives.
