Kris Allen is an American musician, singer and songwriter from Conway, Arkansas, and the winner of the eighth season of American Idol. Allen is recklessly reflective and emotive on his fifth album, Letting You In, released on March 18. He worked on the album in his new home base of Nashville and calls it his most personal album to date. The album is the culmination of a whirlwind three years that included a harrowing car accident that almost robbed him of the ability to play guitar; a departure from his record label; the birth of his first child and the announcement of his wife Katy’s second pregnancy; a move from Arkansas to Nashville; relentless touring; and songwriting sessions that yielded more than 70 new tunes.

Thursday, 5/5

Saturday, 5/7
Joe Walsh is known as one of rock and roll’s finest guitarists with fans including Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. By the time he joined the quintessential super group Eagles in the mid-1970’s, putting his indelible style on the American pop culture canon with “Hotel California” and “Life in the Fast Lane”, Walsh had already founded two incredibly successful bands, The James Gang and Barnstorm, while building a reputation among industry pro’s as a musician’s musician. Pete Townshend called him “a fluid and intelligent players” with few peers.

By the time the Eagles came along, Walsh’s career hit full-steam ahead. During the lull between the band’s release of record-setting releases of Hotel California and The Long Run, Walsh penned his signature send-up of the rock and roll lifestyle, “Life’s Been Good,” and recorded “In the City” for “The Warriors” soundtrack.

Post-Eagles, Walsh took the opportunity to collaborate with musical luminaries such as Ringo Starr, Bob Seger, Warren Zevon and Lionel Richie. The reformation of the Eagles in 1994 coincided with a new musical beginning for Joe. He embarked on a James Gang reunion, released a well-received solo album and found himself in high demand as a collaborator, producer and guest musician, notably closing out the 2012 Grammy Awards with Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen and appearing on the Foo Fighters 2014 Sonic Highways album.

On his most recent solo tours Walsh is more comfortable than ever as a performer, allowing him to regularly reach those normally fleeting moments during shows where the world fades out and the music completely takes over. “I’ll be playing and I open my eyes and I think, Oh sh**. I’m on stage and there’s people here!” explains Walsh. “That feeling is why we do this. For those rare times when you can just zone out and play.”
