Free Comic Book Day began in 2002 and is now an annual international event that takes place the first Saturday in May. Comic books are an original American art form, created in the early days of the twentieth century. They are fun to read, featuring a wide range of diverse story lines that capture the imagination of the readers.
Our 4th annual FCBD event is supported by volunteers, donations, sponsorships and in-kind contributions. The program is presented in partnership with Bentonville Film Festival, Diamond Comic Distributors and Friends of the Bentonville Library. Free Comic Book Day is recognized as an “Official Event” by Children’s Book Week. Proceeds from raffles and silent auctions go to support Bentonville Public Library.
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Free Comic Book Day brought to you by your friendly neighborhood library!
